Force used by thieves

GARDAI were called to the scene of a crime at Roxtown Terrace, in which they say a female was lucky to not be seriously injured when she resisted two males who tried to take her handbag.

The lady was subsequently hit with a bottle in the eye by one of the culprits, at around 2.45 am, on Sunday, August 2.

No description of the criminals was available and Gardai ask the public to try and be alert and attentive to what’s going on, especially in the early hours of the morning.

In the second incident, a young man was approached by two males at Lansdowne Park on Saturday, August 1, at 11.05 pm.
