A MAN has died in a road traffic crash in Co Kerry this morning. The 19 year old, who has been named as Mark Flaherty from Glin, was pronounced dead at the scene. It is understood he was the only occupant of the car.

LIMERICK County Council has welcomed the decision of the ESB to reduce the level of discharges from Parteen Weir. The Council has advised the public that the pedestrian bridge is closed in Castleconnell and a boil notice is to remain in place until the middle of the week at least.

FUNDING for another environmentally friendly construction scheme was released Minister for the Environment, Heritage and Local Government, John Gormley this year for residential projects. €20mn has been allocated to seven specific projects, in various pilot parts of the country, dedicated to Zero Carbon Homes and intended to set the benchmark for new home construction.
