Unicorn’s magical season light show

THE terrific party packages at Unicorn Bar & Restaurant are amplified by the annual light show dripping from the eaves of this Dooradoyle Bar. General manager Bryan Greene has spent €6,000 on a lavish new arrangement and it’s all grist to the feel-good atmosphere at Unicorn and upstairs, Fables Restaurant.

The four course dinner, live band, late DJ and 2am bar, all yours for €27.95, runs every Friday, Saturday and Sunday night in December, and from Thursday December 17 to Saturday 19 – the last weekend before Christmas day. With free parking and taxis easily got for the two miles back into town (Unicorn Bar & Restaurant is on the frequent Raheen bus route), accessibility is sound.

Factor in the extra comforts of a heated smoking area and live band, you see why this family owned and run venue is a winner.

“Our Christmas party menu is great with starters such as vol-au-vent, paté maison and homemade soup,” notes Bryan Greene. “Main courses range from traditional turkey and Limerick ham to rib of beef, salmon fillet or vegetarian fajitas. We have at least five options and almost as many desserts”.
