Oxegen 2010 line-up revealed

The first acts for OXEGEN 2010 have been revealed and the organisers behind one of Europe’s biggest music events have come up trumps with a line-up crammed with your favourites!

Hip hop superstar Eminem makes his OXEGEN debut!  It’ll be his first Irish appearance since the phenomenal sold out shows to 100,000 fans in Punchestown in 2003.

Muse are one of the great live bands and were voted by Q as ‘The Best Band In The World Today’.  Latest album, ‘The Resistance’ reached No.1 in 19 countries and spawned the huge single ‘Uprising’.

US megastar Jay-Z has dominated the rap industry for a generation. He’s currently ruling the airwaves with hit single Empire State Of Mind which reached No.2 in the Irish charts.

The Black Eyed Peas’ three No.1 singles, Boom Boom Pow, I Gotta Feeling, and Meet Me Halfway made history in 2009 with the longest ever successive stay at the top of the US charts with 20 weeks at Number 1.

Kasabian last rocked OXEGEN in 2007. They’ve since released two number one albums and picked up a Brit Award for Best Band last week.

The Prodigy are one of the most successful dance acts of all time and have a fearsome live reputation. You guys can look forward to an awesome, no holds barred performance!

It’s been quite a year for Florence + The Machine.  She won ‘Best Album’ at The Brits for ‘Lungs’ and also picked up ‘Best International Band’ at The Meteor Music Awards.

Paolo Nutini also triumphed at The Meteors, winning ‘Best International Album’ for ‘Sunny Side Up’.  Paolo is sure to be on many of your must see lists at OXEGEN this year.

Other incredible artists announced today are: Faithless, Stereophonics, David Guetta, Vampire Weekend, Mumford & Sons, John Mayer, Hot Chip, Calvin Harris, Newton Faulkner, Gossip, The Temper Trap, Empire Of The Sun, Goldfrapp,  La Roux, Wolfmother, Rise Against, The Coral, Broken Social Scene, Ellie Goulding and Two Door Cinema Club.

They also unveiled some of the biggest names in dance music will be playing the Dance Arena.  Armand Van Helden, Steve Angello (Swedish House Mafia), Simian Mobile Disco, Erol Alkan Steve Aoki, A Trak and Aeroplane will all be laying down the floorfillers!

And that’s just for starters… they’ll reveal more amazing artists on 8th March.

Tickets will go on general release on Friday March 12 at 8am nationwide.  Prices remain unchanged since 2008 with a 3 day camping ticket costing €224.50 (incl booking fee).

The OXEGEN campsite will open on Thursday with fantastic entertainment on The Thursday Night Live Stage.  To start the party early, for an extra €20 you can purchase a 4 day including camping ticket.

Organisers say that as per 2009’s event, the following conditions still apply:

Strictly 17s and over only – ID required and will be checked vigorously before entry.

Under 17s will only be admitted if accompanied by guardian/relative 25 years or over who will sign for and accept responsibility for said person. Policy will be strictly enforced – persons who purchase and ignore conditions will be refused entry with NO refund.
