Appeal for information on 2008 murder

GARDAI at Roxboro are renewing their appeal to the public for information regarding the murder of a 60-year-old man at his home in Limerick three years ago.
Raymond Mullane lived alone at his home at 35 Hyde Avenue, and on Christmas Eve, 2008, was found dead. Initial investigations indicated that the retired man died of natural causes; however, Det Sgt Denis Treacy told the Limerick Post that a subsequent post-mortem revealed that Mr Mullane suffered a single stab wound to the chest.

Gardai, ahead of the third anniversary of Mr Mullane’s death, are asking the public to assist and are encouraging anyone with information to come forward in the strictest of confidence.
Mr Mullane was described as a quiet man who enjoyed the company of his close circle of friends.
“Well liked and well known in the area, the death of Mr Mullane is a complete mystery as he never had a cross word with anyone”.
Det Sgt Treacy said that the gardai feel that there are individuals out there that can shed light on the suspicious circumstances surrounding the murder and are appealing on behalf of the family for information to further their investigation.
“We are looking to renew this investigation and get an insight into what happened Mr Mullane”.
