IT IS that time of year again when many people take stock of their motoring situation with a view to possibly upgrading their car, new or used, in the New Year.  If you are one of these people then November will be a busy month for you as it signals the traditional time of year when a lot of car manufacturers and dealerships highlight their offers for the year ahead.

Cavanaghs of Charleville has two Open Events coming up for Ford and Hyundai. The Hyundai Open Week kicked off on Monday 5 and will exend to Sunday 11, while the Ford Open Event extends from Friday November 9 through to Friday 30.

Hyundai Open Week sees a number of new cars on view for the week. First up is the newly launched Santa Fe. Every aspect of the new Santa Fe has been improved to deliver a genuine contender for top Sport Utility Vehicle on Irish roads today. Upgraded engine performance, comfort levels, noise and vibration control, and safety are just some of the key areas that have been advanced. From €38,645 on the road, Cavanaghs expects healthy activity from existing Santa Fe owners.

Also new on the forecourt is the revamped i30 Tourer. This really is a stunning car offering the driveability and handling of a car with the roominess and space of an estate. Early observers are calling it the “mini i40” which is no bad thing given how well sales of the i40 have been this year.  From €22,645, the i30 Tourer is sure to attract attention in the year ahead.

Not to be outdone, Ford too has added to its line-up for 2013.  Most notable amongst the newcomers is the all-new B-Max. This is a brand new model from Ford that is aimed at the ‘roomier’ small car segment. For smaller families or, so called, “empty nesters, seeking a little more space, this car is an ideal fit. Ford expects it to perform well across Europe given its broad appeal and Cavanaghs have this car on view starting from €20,500 on the road for the 1.4 petrol model.

Also new to the Ford line up, but not available until January, is the eagerly awaited new Fiesta. Expectations are high following some sneak previews and Cavanaghs expects a strong interest from loyal Fiesta buyers. Finally, completing the line-up of new entrants from Ford is the new Kuga. The existing model was hard to top but Ford has outdone itself in producing an even more impressive machine which gives an unrivalled performance on the road. The 2 litre Zetec front wheel drive version will be available from €34,150.

All in all, plenty to look at and ponder for motorists over the coming weeks and months and encouraging to see such great products coming down the line from our dealerships proving that there is plenty of life in the motor industry in 2013.
