The Irish Chamber Orchestra joins forces with former Riverdance star Colin Dunne for its summer tour that includes a rare appearance in Kilmallock.

The Feet First tour, which runs from 10-20 July, will bring a vibrant performance of new music, classic favourites and a stunning new dance to eight regional venues including Ballingarry, Tipperary and Kilkee.

Colin Dunne is a leading figure in the world of traditional Irish dance. Best known internationally for his performances and choreography in Riverdance and Dancing on Dangerous Ground, he has been forging a new creative path since his time as artist-in-residence at University of Limerick where he completed an MA in contemporary dance. Since then he has worked as an independent performer, choreographer and teacher.

He first worked with the Irish Chamber Orchestra in 2001 when he performed Micheál O’Suilleabhain’s (Hup!) at Chicago Symphony Hall. He performed Bill Whelan’s Carna again with the ICO on a national tour and in New York’s Carnegie Hall in 2005.

He performs the world premiere of a new work by Kinsale-born composer, Linda Buckley whose work has been performed by the BBC Symphony Orchestra, Irish Chamber Orchestra, RTÉ National Symphony Orchestra, Dresden Sinfoniker Orchestra. She is currently RTÉ lyric fm Composer-in-Residence.
