Minister hears how floods swept through Foynes

MINISTER of State for the Office of Public Works, Patrick Hayes, was in Foynes this week to hear what residents a business owners suffered in the January flooding.

He met with representatives of the local community in Foynes, Limerick County Council, the OPW, Shannon Foynes Port Company and Public Representatives.

At the meeting the Minister was told by local community representatives that the January flood had caused huge problems in the community in Foynes and that there was a need for all of the State bodies to work together to try to help those affected and to try to ensure that it doesn’t happen again.
