78-year-old man has pleaded guilty to the sexual assault of a two year old boy at an address in County Limerick in October 2011.
The man, who cannot be named for legal reasons, pleaded guilty before Judge Carroll Moran at Limerick Circuit Court to the single charge of sexual assault of the young boy on October 12, 2011, just weeks before his third birthday.

Prosecuting counsel John O’Sullivan said that the matter was highly sensitive given the young age of the victim.
The pensioner was released on his own continuing bail pending sentence in May.
