After Dark – Limerick Floods Beneift Concert

TALENTED musicians from all over Limerick got together last Monday 17 evening for a very special benefit night to help raise emergency funds for those most affected by the recent floods in Limerick.
The one night only concert  was organised by Music Generation Limerick City  (MGLC)who work closely with the community in St Mary’s Park who were among the worst affected in Limerick.
Music Generation co-ordinator Boris Hunka and the team behind the fundraiser were inundated with offers from local bands and singers eager to do their bit and help out when word of the concert spread.
So on Monday then, bands like Leading Armies, Protobaby, Windings, The O’Malley’s, The Funk Junkies, Kathleen Turner, MYC, Eamonn Hehir, My Name is John, Godknows, Joans, and Moley O’Súilleabháin to name just a few, took to the stage at Dolan’s Warehouse as Limerick music fans, wanting to show their support, attended the gig.
There were lots of familiar faces from the music and arts community spotted enjoying the concert and the €10 collected from those ‘on the door’ will now go to Limerick City Community Development Project to help with the devastation left by Storm Darwin.
A dedicated community event will take place soon in St Mary’s where MGLC will present the cheque of funds raised and young people from Music Generation projects will perform. Well done to all involved in organising, performing at and supporting this special fundraiser.
