Limerick City of Culture welcomes Crescent Shopping Centre sponsorship

SG Clancourt Sponsor LCC  07LIMERICK City of Culture 2014 and its chairperson Pat Cox have welcomed Crescent Shopping Centre as funding partners. The Clancourt Group, which owns and operates the busy Dooradoyle centre, has offered substantial sponsorship to the year-long initiative.

Kevin Kenny, operations director at Clancourt Group, explained: “The Crescent Shopping Centre has been operating in Limerick since 1973 and is rooted in the Limerick community. We are honoured and excited to support the city in this important year.”

Commenting on the announcement, culture director Mike Fitzpatrick said: “This contribution…shows a great commitment to the city from the Crescent Shopping Centre and Clancourt Group. As a result of the sponsorship, we look forward to fulfilling the ambition of Limerick City of Culture.”

Limerick is Ireland’s first national City of Culture in 2014. The vision for cultural development in Limerick city is to create a vibrant city, widely recognised as a cultural centre, where arts, culture and sport are placed firmly at the centre of economic, social and physical regeneration in a way which inspires, empowers and elevates those who live, work in and visit the city.
