THE ENERGY hub that is Limerick Writers’ Centre is behind two coming events that are open to all interested in literary matters.
First up is the launch of Evelyn Casey’s book of poetry, ‘Not My Life Story – But the Next Best Thing’, taking place on Sunday 31 next at 3pm in The Captain’s Room of The Hunt Museum.
Published by Revival Press, we hear that it is an exploration of her family, ranging from the birth of the author’s great grandparents, Michael (1845) and Mary (1852) Hogan to the birth of the author’s grandchild, Gwenevere.
“It is a very personal homage to her people, reflected in story and poem”.

“This month our guests are Keith Armstrong from the UK and Noel Duffy, Irish, followed by the open-mic session,” Dominic Taylor of LWC, Barrington Street, reports.
Keith Armstrong has organised community arts festivals in the region of Newcastle on Tyne and many literary events. He was founder of Ostrich poetry magazine, Poetry North East, Tyneside Poets and the ‘Strong Words and Durham Voices’ community publishing series.
Duffy’s collection ‘In the Library of Lost Objects’ was shortlisted for the 2012 Strong Award for Best First Collection by an Irish Poet. He holds an MA in Writing from the National University of Ireland, Galway.
