Dutch flight diverted to Shannon

A DUTCH KLM flight carrying almost 300 passengers was forced to make an precautionary emergency landing at Shannon Airport this Wednesday morning.

Bound for Amsterdam from South America, flight KL765 alerted air traffic control that it would be diverting to the co Clare airport.

The plane landed safely in Shannon at 9.37am with 298 people on board.

In a statement from the airline on Wednesday evening, they say, “Passengers and crew were not in danger.”

Passengers later travelled onto Amsterdam Schiphol airport onboard another KLM plane while aeronautical technicians carried out further investigations.
