Second man arrested following Limerick shooting

A SECOND male has been arrested in connection with a shooting incident in Thomondgate on Tuesday evening last.

Shortly after midnight on this Wednesday, Gardai arrested a second man aged 20 and he is being detained at Roxboro Garda station under the provisions of section 30 of the Offences the State Act 1939 as amended.

The arrests were made following the discharge of a firearm at an occupied house on New Road, Thomondgate at 7:40pm.

The incident occurred when shots were fired at a house with a number of occupants (1 female aged 22 and two male teenagers) in the house at the time, but no one was injured in the incident.

A motor cycle was observed leaving the scene and Gardai arrested a male in his early 20’s close to the scene.

He was taken to Mayorstone Garda station where he is being detained under the provisions of section 30 of the offences Against the State Act 1939 as amended.
