THE Royal Picture Show’s four day festival of film, music, schools and charity support opened last night, Thursday 18, with a joyful burst at 69 O’Connell Street. Unity Gospel Choir Limerick showed up to serenade the launch party with an hour of feel-good chorus, hitting the high notes in style.

As with last night’s dedication to Madeline Carroll (Limerick antecedents), a tribute to the late Robin Williams will close the few days on Sunday 21 night with the 7pm screening of ‘Mrs Doubtfire’.
In a charity tie in, proceeds from the €10 ticket sales will go to sustaining ADAPT Domestic Abuse Services.
A laugh-out-loud family comedy, ‘Mrs Doubtfire’ is the housekeeper guise donned by Robin’s character so that he can spend time with his kids.
Sally Field and Pierse Brosnan light up the screen with Williams.
“This screening offers an opportunity to share the talents of an exceptional performer with a new generation – and raise needed funds for women and children in crisis,” comments Laura Bohan of ADAPT Services. “We would like to thank Declan McLoughlin of The Royal Picture Show for the chance to get involved”.
€10 tickets from ADAPT Shop, Sarsfield Street and Laura, 083-3804026.
