THIS Friday 21 at UCH, the 8pm concert by Irish Chamber Orchestra will be a major piece of work. Jorg Widmann leads with his Five Duos from a suite of 21 for Violin and Cello, using Nicola Sweeney on violin and Rudi de Groot on cellos.
The great Hugh Tinney is present for Prokofiev’s Overture on Hebrew Themes for Piano and String Orchestra and of course, Mendelssohn remains a constant for Jorg with String Symphonies No. 4 and No. 8 selected.
