All Tvvins got some astronaut pop this weekend

All Tvvins

ALL Tvvins are Conor Adams and Lar Kaye. They released a stomping new single in February called ‘Thank You’ on Warner Music. The duo should already be familiar to readers as both players come from well established Irish math-rock bands. Lar Kaye played guitar with Adebisi Shank and drums with No Spill Blood. Conor Adams is songwriter, vocalist and guitarist with The Cast Of Cheers.
The duo started writing together in the summer of 2013 while their respective bands were on hiatus. Early efforts from All Tvvins displayed their desire to create something different using 1980s’ synth influences. The duo did not want to retread the sounds of their other bands, as Lar explains: “We talked about it for a while, and we decided that it made no sense to create another band that replicated what we had both done before.”
More recent material has more in common with everything great about the Cast of Cheers sound with added musical muscle from Lar Kaye’s guitars but with a pop sheen that could see the All Tvvins project go beyond all their expectations.

Singer Conor Adams told NME this week that the All Tvvins sound takes its influences from as wide a spectrum as Wild Beasts, Todd Terje and Pearl Jam. Its safe to say their creativity and song writing is on a much bigger canvas than most. “We can be seven hours into some tune and realise we’ve written a Christina Aguilera song,” he revealed to the weekly music magazine.
The video for ‘Thank you’ is a wonderful punk-ballet piece directed by Brendan Canty from Feel Good Lost who also directed Hozier’s ‘Take Me to Church’ video.
Live the band includes a drummer and with the backing of Warner Music Ireland we can expect an album from All Tvvins in the near future.
Well worth a look, All Tvvins play Kasbah Social Club this Friday March 27.
