LIMERICK has some of the best networkers in the country according to BNI Ireland South and West at a awards ceremony held in Athlone recently. Limerick’s Treaty networking group were recognised as one of the top three Chapters in the country, beating off strong competition from groups across Ireland.

Treaty Chapter members who come from a broad range of business backgrounds including a printer, a hotelier and a plumber,  generated over €5million worth of business for each other in the past five years, €424,000 of which has been since the beginning of this year. The group who meet each Thursday morning at 7am in the Savoy Hotel also support 377 local jobs with this set to grow further this year.

Speaking at the event, Sandra Hart, Executive Director of BNI Ireland South and West and Director of European Affairs, BNI said, “I warmly congratulate the Treaty group on the huge strides they have made which now puts them among the very best business networkers in Ireland. Each member is proof that effective networking has the ability to better your business, which in turn benefits the local economy.”

Also speaking of the accolade, John MacNamara, Chapter Director said, “We are extremely proud to be recognised as one of the top three networking groups in the country. All of our members turn up each week to not only grow their own respective businesses but also to support their colleagues in the group and ultimately to better the local economy. By supporting each other we ensure that business is kept local which I believe is incredibly important. I also hope that this accolade will encourage other local businesses to come and visit our weekly meeting to find out how they can also be a part of building their business and ensuring that Limerick businesses can thrive in to the future.”
