Pedestrian killed in Limerick accident

garda accidentGardaí are appealing for witnesses to a fatal accident in Rathkeale which claimed the life of a male pedestrian in his twenties in the early hours of this morning.

The accident occurred at Blossomhill, Rathkeale on the N21 Croagh to Rathkeale road at around 3.30am when a van struck the man who was pronounced dead at the scene.

The male driver of the van and a female passenger, who are both in their late 20’s were uninjured.

The road is closed until at least lunchtime in order to facilitate an examination by Garda forensic collision investigators and diversions are in place.
