Limerick man killed in North Carolina

A LIMERICK man has been killed following a domestic disturbance in North Carolina, it has emerged this Monday.

Police officers and detectives at the Davidson County Sheriff’s Office in North Carolina are investigating an incident that occurred early on Sunday morning at Panther Creek Court in Wallburg where Limerick man, 39-year-old Jason Corbett, originally from the Janesboro area, was found with fatal head injuries.

Reports indicating that shortly after 3am the County Sherrif’s house received an emergency call regarding an alleged assault at a house in Panther Creek Court.

Upon arrival, sherriff deputies found a man inside the home, unconscious and unresponsive having suffered head injuries.

Emergency medical treatment was given at the scene but Mr Corbett subsequently died from his injuries.

During their initial investigation, deputies were able to determine that Mr Corbett sustained his injuries as a result of a possible domestic disturbance.

Davidson County Sheriff David Grice said that detectives were following definite lines of inquiry that Mr Corbett died as a result of a blunt force trauma death.

It’s understood that the item used to inflict the injury was found at the scene.

“There are persons of interest within the family,” Sheriff Grice said in a statement. “We are currently still investigating and waiting for autopsy results.”

No arrests have been made but investigators say that they are not looking for anyone outside the home.
