Limerick woman collects €500,000 lottery winnings

-

national-lottery-2A Limerick woman, who kept a list on her bedside table for four years of how she would spend her winnings if she ever won the Lottery, collected a cheque for €500,000 today at National Lottery offices.

“I wanted to be prepared, just in case it ever happened. I didn’t want us to lose the run of ourselves if we ever won anything! My husband thought I was mad to keep it all these years but I had a feeling it would come in handy one day.”

The woman, who has accompanied by her husband, won the prize in the EuroMillions Plus draw on Friday 14 August 2015. She purchased her winning €3 Quick Pick play online at Lottery.ie.

When asked how they plan to spend their winnings, the woman who plays EuroMillions and Lotto regularly answered: “We’ll have to consult our list first.

“We’d like to get a new car and pay for some home improvements. We’re really looking forward to being able to treat our friends and family a little too”, she said.
