University Concert Hall was a winner of the 2015 Best Sport, Art & Culture Award at the Limerick Chamber Bicentennial President’s Dinner and Regional Business Awards. The 1000-seater venue shares honours equally with Thomond Park.

The Limerick Chamber accolade was the second significant coup within a year for the campus based concert hall, following its success at IMRO.

“We were delighted to receive this award which recognises the significant contribution that University Concert Hall has made to Limerick and the wider Mid-West region over the past 22 years,” responded Emma Foote, marketing manager on behalf of the concert hall. “With this, and the recent UCH IMRO Award for Best Live Music Venue in Munster, University Concert Hall has been well recognised this year as a cultural and live entertainment venue to rival any of similar capacity throughout the country.”

The presentation ceremony took place on Friday November 13 at Limerick Strand Hotel, attended by some 430 business leaders as well as Government and local authority officials.

It was Liam Butler, chief risk officer with Northern Trust, company sponsor of  this Best Sport, Art & Culture Award who presented it to the UL based team headed up by Michael Foley, and to Thomond Park.
