€40,000 cannabis haul lands 36-year-old in custody

GARDAI have discovered €40,000 worth of cannabis this Wednesday as part of an intelligence led joint operation between Officers of the Revenue Commissioners Customs Service, the Garda Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau.

Members from the Nenagh Divisional Drugs Unit, carried out the search operation in Nenagh, Co Tipperary.

The search resulted in the seizure of 2 kilos of Cannabis Herb with an estimated street value in excess of €40,000 which was seized by Customs.

During the course of this joint operation one 36-year-old male was arrested by Gardai and detained for questioning under the provisions of Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996.

He can be held for up to seven days before charge.
