Man dies in county Limerick road crash

A LIMERICK man, in his 50s, has been killed following a single vehicle road traffic collision in the county in the early hours of this Monday morning.

The stretch of road at Ballincolly near Kilmallock has been closed as Gardai investigate the circumstances of the crash.

It is understood that the male, who was the sole occupant in the car, died at the scene after his car left the road and hit a ditch.

Witnesses to accident, which happened around 1:30am, are being asked to come forwardto come forward.

The road to Charleville remains closed this Monday morning for technical examinations to be carried out.

The man’s remains were transferred to Cork University Hospital where a post mortem examination will be carried out.
