A DEVICE that was discovered on land in County Limerick has been made safe by the Army Bomb Disposal Unit.

The device, discovered on lands near the Patrickswell to Crecora road, did not explode and was made safe by the Cork based unit this Holy Thursday after the alarm was raised.

Gardai sealed off the area for the unit to carry out their work and to prevent any members of the public entering the area.

The road has been sealed off.
