MILFORD Care Centre and Anam Cara will host a bereavement information evening on Tuesday June 14, 7pm to 9pm for parents grieving the loss of a child – a child of any age and regardless of circumstance of death.
The guest speaker is Peter McCartan. He is an experienced senior medical social worker and a registered systemic family therapist.
This talk will cover complex issues grieving parents face when and highlighting what is normal; gender differences explored to give an understanding for both parents of their differing worldviews.
Also milestones along the journey will be outlined, and the impact of various types of loss on parents, their families and on the deceased child’s siblings.
