A THREE year-old boy and a his Italian father have been killed in a head on road crash in County Limerick this Tuesday morning, just a short time after the boy’s mother was attacked at her home.

Gardai in Limerick are investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash and a stabbing incident in Oola where a woman received superficial stab wounds.

It is understood that gardai were called to a house in Oola at around 8:35am where a young Irish mother was found with stab wounds.

The mother alerted gardai that her former partner, an Italian national who had been living in Latin in South Tipperary, had taken their three year old son from the house.

Emergency services were called to the scene and the woman was hospitalised where her condition is said to be stable. The cuts received were not deemed life threatening.

A short time later, the father’s 2005 registered black Audi was involved in a head on collision with a truck at an area known as Brooks Bridge on the N24 Pallasgreen to Oola road.
