THREE years ago Druid launched an Emerging Artist Residency for theatre makers based in the West of Ireland, Limerick and Clare included. This so called FUEL programme has been revised year-on-year to respond to artists as their conditions and ideas change.

Two plays that have emerged already are ‘Hostel 16’ by Fionnuala Gygax and ‘My Poet Dark and Slender’ from Róisín Stack.

With support from the Arts Council, and St Anthony’s and Claddagh Credit Union, Druid now presents a residency programme for theatre artists at all stages of their careers.

Beginning this September it will run into June 2017.

Candidates will be recognised as associate artists of the Mick Lally Theatre, Druid Lane and will be mentored.
