WHAT about the spoken word for Culture Night on Friday 16? Aosdána member Ciaran O’Driscoll alerts Arts page to his grouping, Fourfront Poets who will perform at Corbally’s Hook and Ladder at 6.30pm.

With Irish trad music by Margaret Farrelly and John Bashford, and every possibility of O’Driscoll on the concertina, this reading is themed ‘Sights and Sounds of Autumn’.

FourFront is made up of Jo Slade, Mark Whelan, Paul Sweeney and himself, pillars of the annual CUISLE International Poetry Festival taking place in Limerick every October.

This quartet has been around in performance and collaboration since the 1980s. They have involved in publications, visual art and projects and for the past 20 years have brought to CUISLE some of the world’s finest writers and thinkers, as well as fostering Irish and local talent.
