There will be two distances available on the day, with each starting from the Millennium Centre in Caherconlish. The Classic Tour is 60km long and will suit those who may be first timers or younger riders. The Classic Challenge version is 120km long and will suit more seasoned campaigners. Both rides follow the same route for the first 40km going from Caherconlish, to Cappamore and on to Lough Gur where refreshments will be waiting.

Those who are still fresh enough in the legs can continue for another 80km going to Bruff, Kilmallock, Ardpatrick, Kilfinnane, Ballylanders, Garryspillane, Knocklong and back to Caherconlish. There will be a water stop in Ballylanders. A couple testy hills will be negotiated along the way including Ballintubber.

Experienced riders from Limerick Cycling Club will be on hand to encourage and assist everybody. The ride will be well marshalled with static stewards and motor cycle support in abundance. There will be ambulances following the ride, and mechanical assistance if required.

Sign-on is available on the day at the Millennium Centre from 8:30 am till 10:00. For the 60km Classic Tour event, the fee is €15 for Cycling Ireland license holders, and €20 without. For the 120km Classic Challenge ride, the fee is €20 for Cycling Ireland license holders and €25 without.

More information is available at www.limerickcc.com and you can find both the club and the event on face book.  We hope to see you all for what promises to be a most enjoyable, challenging and rewarding day out!
