OST is the moniker of New York based musician/ artist Shane Harrington who is originally from Limerick and played guitar with noise punks We Come in Pieces and released ambient / soundtrack music under his OST banner. Now living in New York for four years, Harrington has continued to work on solo projects.
‘Uncaused’ is the third album by OST, the result of two years of experimentation in late night arrangements and experimental electronics.
The hypnotic and sweet guitar playing belies the darker content in the sparsely performed lyrics but never loses sight of the melodies.
The lyrics deal with themes of mental illness, family trauma, psychology, the medication/therapy industries and social issues.
“The biggest change that came with ‘Uncaused’ was the abandonment of samples and the use of my own voice,” explains Harrington.
