THE latest creation by Moyross Community Drama, working with the GAFF resource centre, is ‘Five Houses’. From GAFF board member Monica Spencer, we hear that ‘Five Houses’ is “a dramatic response to the crises of displacement and home that pervade our news every day. The distress of families and individuals at home and across the globe affects each one of us”.

Members of MCD have created solo pieces based on the themes of displacement, belonging, community, houses and home.

Building on these individual pieces of writing, the group has developed a new theatre piece with director Naomi O’Kelly leading.

“Cast members Carrie Barrett, Lucia Brunetti, Majella Conway, Sheila Fitzpatrick-O’Donnell, Ger Purcell and Leanne O’Donnell have created a unique response to one of the challenging issues facing humanity, that of finding a home and keeping it”.

You can view ‘Five Houses’ from Monday 24 to Thursday 27, 8pm  at  local centre Respond! in Moyross, eircode V94 NNX4. €5 at door.
