GAA – Weekly Limerick GAA Round Up

screen-shot-2016-11-17-at-10-08-05ADARE will represent Limerick in the Munster Intermediate Football Championship final on November 27.
Kenmare of Kerry will be the opposition after Adare defeated Kiskeam of Cork 0-13 to 0-11 in the semi final in Mallow last weekend.
In a competition that a Limerick side has never won, Adare defeated the pre match favourites with Shane Costello (5), Hugh Bourke (4) and Mark Connolly to the fore on the scoreboard.
With Brendan Carmody in great form between the sticks for Adare, the west village side will now look to go one better than Pallasgreen (2005) and St Senan’s (2003) in winning the final.
Gerald Griffins of Limerick can secure their place in the Munster Junior Football final this weekend as they take on Glenbeigh/ Glencar in Ballyhahill at 2pm this Sunday afternoon.
In other GAA news, Mungret St Paul’s secured the Nick Greene Sportsground Mgt County Intermediate Hurling Championship 0-17 to 0-10, to win over Pallasgreen in a replay last Sunday.
Richie Burke top scored for the men in red with a tally of 0-9 (0-7 from frees).
Burke was ably assisted by Brian Tobin (0-3), Eoin O’Doherty (0-2) and Brendan Giltenane, Thomas Giltenane and Brian Barry, who all raised one white flag each.
The win for Mungret seals a memorable year for Limerick City hurling as the Senior, Premier Intermediate, Intermediate and Junior titles are all resting within the City Division this Christmas.
