Gardai seize €250,000 worth of drugs in Limerick

gardai greyDRUGS valued at €250,000 have been seized in Limerick this Saturday after Gardai conducted a number of planned searches.

Gardai from the divisional drugs unit, supported by detectives investigating serious and organized crime and Gardai raided a number of addresses in the Northside of the city.

Warrants were sought and granted to senior Gardai this week and the searches were carried out over the course of this Saturday from early in the morning.

Large quantities of cannabis resin and herb were found as a result of garda investigations as well as a smaller quantity of cocaine.

It is estimated that the street value of the drug store were upwards of €250,000 marking this as a significant seizure for Gardai.

One male has been arrested and was held in Henry Street garda station for questioning.

Meantime, investigations are continuing and a file is to be prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.
