According to Limerick Fine Gael Senator Maria Byrne, more than120 community groups and voluntary organisations around the country will receive funding from the national lottery to support their work.

“Here in Limerick City, the Limerick Family Planning Clinic is to receive €1,650 to upgrade their premises,” she said.

Bergerie Trust Ltd is to receive €50,000 to carry out renovations which are necessary to continue their work in providing sheltered housing for the elderly. Acquired Brain Injury Ireland is to receive €20,000 to purchase a vehicle for its Limerick City service and DeafHear.ie is to receive €20,000 to fund a variety of programme.

“This funding will make a real impact on the services that volunteers and groups can deliver and help them continue to make a difference to the lives of the many people who use these services. We are using the economic progress to make people’s lives a little better, and funding allocations like this one are very much part of that,” Senator Byrne said.
