On Monday, July 10 the U-16 football side played Kilpeacon in Caherally in what turned out to be a very tight game. There was a threat of rain throughout the whole game but the players and spectators were lucky not to see it.

The first half was a slow start for both sides with Kilpeacon having the majority of possession but Mungret St Pauls took their chances when they could and went into the half with a slim lead 0-5 to 0-4.

The game loosened up in the second half as Kilpeacon hit the Mungret St Pauls’ post allowing the ball to bounce to a Kilpeacon player where he won a penalty which was converted giving them a 2 point lead.

Mungret St Pauls would not go down without a fight and continued to take the ball up the field and creating chances with minutes left on the clock. After hitting the bar and crossing the ball in multiple times, Mungret St Pauls finally got the goal they were looking for. Another free kick gave Mungret St Pauls a two point win, 2-8 to 1-9.

On a lovely Summer’s afternoon, the Junior B hurlers took on Monaleen in Mungret on Sunday, July 16. The game was very one sided from the start with Mungret St Pauls scoring an early goal and an additional 3 points before Monaleen could even respond with a point of their own.

In the second half Mungret St Pauls did not put on as much pressure on Monaleen allowing them to add a goal and plenty of points to their score. Mungret St Pauls only scored one goal in the second, but more than doubled their points bringing the final score to Mungret St Pauls 4-24 Monaleen 1-10.
