Fatal accident claims life at Kerry Limerick border

THE main N21 Limerick to Tralee road remains closed at Knocknagoshel following a fatal road traffic collision this Tuesday.

Gardai in Listowel are investigating a two vehicle fatal road traffic collision that occurred at Ballyduff, Knocknagoshel on the N21 Castleisland to Abbeyfeale Road at approximately 1pm this Tuesday.

A man in his 60s was seriously injured after his van was involved in a collision with an articulated truck just outside the village not far from the Limerick and Kerry border.

The injured man was brought to Kerry University Hospital but was later pronounced dead.

The driver of the truck was uninjured.

Gardai tonight have said that this stretch of road is currently closed to facilitate an examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators and local diversions are in place.
