Ardscoil Rís pupils; James Murphy, Harry Kelly, Harry Frost and Luke Foley are all set for their school’s upcoming musical The Four Seasons that will take place from 8pm on Thursday 16 to November 18 at Millennium Theatre, LIT.

The musical dramatizes the formation, success and eventual break-up of the 1960s rock ‘n’roll group Frankie Valli & The Four Seasons responsible for classic hits Big Girls Don’t Cry; December 1963 (Oh, What A Night) and Can’t Take My Eyes Off You.

Ard Scoil Ris Transitions years are staging a musical the “Four Seasons” based on the music of Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons. It is presented in a documentary-style format that dramatizes the formation, success and eventual break-up of the 1960s rock ‘n roll group The Four Seasons.

The boys have been working hard over the last couple of months and are looking forward to staging the show in the Millennium Theatre at the Limerick Institute for Technology.

Harry Frost takes on the lead role of Frankie Valli while James Murphy plays the role of the song-writing genius Bob Gaudio. While the other band members are played by Luke Foley as Nick Massi and Harry Kelly as Tommy Devito.

The classic list of songs include “Big Girls Don’t Cry“, “Sherry“, “December 1963 (Oh, What A Night)“, “My Eyes Adored You“, “Stay“, “Can’t Take My Eyes Off You“, “Working My Way Back to You” and “Rag Doll“, among others.

Tony Cusack directs the show while Morgan Roughan is the musical Director. The dance numbers are choreographed by Carol Cusack ably assisted by former Ard Scoil student Luke Madigan.

Other roles include John McGuiness as Nick Devito – Ronan O’Gorman as Joe Pessi – Hugh Clery Ward as Gyp Decarlo – James Horrigan as Hank Majewski – Stephen Burke as Bob Crewe – Kian Guilfoyle as Norm Waxman.

There are a few female guest performers including Eva Rose Kiely as Mary Valli – Sarah McDonagh as Francine Valli – Sophie Boyce as Lorraine.

The show promises entertainment for all the family with a live orchestra and some great classic pop songs – Tickets can be purchased direct at the School. “It’s a classic American story. It’s rags to riches, and back to rags then back to riches again.
