#Limerick hometown gig – Emma has the touring bug

Emma Langford

FOLLOWING the release of her wonderful debut album ‘Quiet Giant’, Emma Langford set out in October with the Irish Folk Festival Tour playing 26 shows across Switzerland and Germany. ‘Closed Book’ is the first single lifted from the album and You Tube views are heading for 10,000 views for the independent artist.

Now back in Limerick, fighting a post-tour cough/bug, Emma says the tour has been life changing as she prepares for her hometown show this Saturday.

“The tour was an incredible, frankly life-changing experience! I got to learn a lot about the ins and outs of tour life, and really saw a new side to the music industry. I’m really looking forward to getting back on the road again.”

And it looks like she won’t have to wait too long. Emma is working with Cork artist Sara Ryan booking a nationwide tour in February and March.

“Looking forward to playing some new venues and meeting lots of lovely new people!”

The first gig announced is Coughlan’s, Cork City on February 23. Meanwhile rehearsals are continuing for this week’s gig which will feature her full band.

“Prep is going well – it’s non-stop right now! The show’s going to be a lot of fun.”

Emma Langford and her band play Dolan’s this Saturday December 2
