Missing man’s body found in Limerick

Gardaí in Limerick searching for 44 year old William Tiernan have located his body on the bank of the canal at Corbally.

He was last seen on Denmark Street in Limerick city on Tuesday, December 12. Originally from Coobawn, Nenagh, he was reported missing after a night out with work colleagues.

His friends, who posted messages on social media said it was “completely out of character for him to not report for rostered duty” as a psychiatric nurse.

His body has been removed from the scene to University Hospital Limerick and a post mortem will take place tomorrow.
