24 artists in 10 performances taking place over two days is the public aspect to Limerick’s latest, What Next Festival of contemporary dance.

Operating out of Dance Limerick resource centre on John’s Square, What Next’s first outing will be an immersive week of exchange and workshops with emerging dancers and established choreographers. Artists Limerick based and international will platform a sequence of three dance programmes on Friday February 9, Saturday 10 – one of them to be especially family friendly.

There’s a bring-a-bag lunch planned to welcome in Joe Public and a separate ‘let’s talk about what the hell that was’ off site with poet/ designer Jo Slade, without the dance professionals earwigging what outsiders think.

Also an almighty closing party is forecast with DJ/ artist Padraic E Moore projecting video and visuals to music across the decades. Just consider how this dance-dedicated festival is going to burn up the floor in this unique venue, a converted church.
