ULSTER defeated Munster 37-11 at Thomond Park to become the first Irish team to do so since Leinster in 1995.

Paddy Wallace, Darren Cave, Mark McCrea, Tom Court and Andrew Trimble all scored points for Ulster as Munster’s attempt to get back to the top of the Magners League disintegrated.

Munster now face an uneasy wait as Ronan O'Gara's hamstring injury could see him absent before the forthcoming Heineken Cup meetings.

Rua Tipoki who was a further casualty at Thomond Park on Saturday will add additional fears for coach Tony McGahan ahead of Sale's trip to Limerick on Friday week.
