Limerick FC are delighted to announce a formal link up with Carew Park FC that will see the club support Carew Park’s new under age structure through the provision of sponsorship, coaching support and club gear. The link up is the latest in a series of such associations Limerick FC has with local clubs throughout the region. Carew Park FC has not had an active underage structure since 1995 and will kick off the new Schoolboy/girl season with under 7 teams upwards in what is a huge boost to the area.

Explaining the link up, Pat O’Sullivan, Limerick FC said, “Limerick FC are delighted to be linking up with Carew Park FC in a move that will support their new underage teams for the coming seasons.  The coaches and committee at Carew Park are doing enormous work in their community by now offering the outlet of soccer as a social outlet to young people.  Limerick FC are strongly committed to providing assistance for local clubs who are offering an alternative to anti-social behaviour through organised sport so it makes perfect sense for us to link up with Carew Park.   We are providing not just financial assistance in terms of playing gear and equipment but also offering coaching support to the existing Carew Park coaches.”
Christy Kelly, Chairman, Carew Park FC expressed his thanks to Limerick FC saying “Carew Park are very grateful to Limerick FC through Pat O’Sullivan for all the help they have given us in starting up underage football again in the club.  We have also received great assistance from the estate management in particular Patricia Boylan and also from all the staff at Limerick Regeneration who have helped put the facilities in place that are needed to run an underage team within a club.  It’s been way too long since 1995 that we have had underage teams for the area.  If you think we had the likes of Albert Finnan, Daithi McMahon, Ger Constable & Willie John Boland all go on to play with Limerick FC in the past we are hopeful that the rebirth of schoolboy and schoolgirl football in Carew Park will unearth some equally talented players.”
Limerick FC was also recently presented with a certificate by the Limerick Chamber in recognition for its achievement in being selected as a Finalist in the 2011 Limerick Region Business Awards. Limerick FC was a finalist in the 2011 Best Sporting Enterprise category. Limerick FC would like to congratulate Thomond Park, overall winner in this category, on their achievement.
