THE FUTURE of Anglo Irish Bank is expected to be made known this Wednesday as the Government has indicated that an announcement will be made regarding the troubled bank. Anglo has set aside a further €700 million in potential losses on borrowings to the Quinn family as the amount that the bank expects to recoup is much lower that previously estimated. Anglo Chairman, Alan Dukes said that an announcement is expected.

IRISH people are in the top ten nations when it comes to digging deep in their pockets for charities. A worldwide study has revealed that through financial donations and time giving, Ireland ranks joint third with Canada in the Charities Aid Foundation's World Giving Index.

LIMERICK City's live register has increased by over 10,000 since 2006 according to the latest figures released by the Central Statistics Office. The number of people signing on in Limerick City has increased from 6,327 in August 2006 to 16,490 in 2010, an increase of 10,163. There are three times as many people on the live register in Killmallock in 2010, 2,919,  compared to 920 in August 2006. Newcastle West's live register has almost quadrupled from 1,006 in August 2006 to 3,739 in August 2010.
