Bluemotion option for new Passat

MORE than three decades later, Volkswagen’s Passat offers a new model. The series of improved Passats rolled out over the years has also become a representation of automotive progress, and the new technologies and engineering/ electrical equipment available. This representation is characterised by vehicle size, drive technologies with acronyms like TDI, safety features such as airbags, ABS and ESP in addition to quality details such as galvanised bodies.

The Passat is now more than just a middle-class saloon. With a choice of cars available, the 1.4TSi model has climactic air conditioning, front electric windows, remote central locking, front fog lights, electric parking brake and electronic stability programme.

Driver and passenger safety is cushioned by the concealed side and had curtain airbags.

The Bluemotion Passat develops the already well equipped Passat and, in addition, offers further environmental credentials by refining existing technology. Dynamic lines reduce the vehicle’s air resistance and, combined with engineering refinements, low rolling resistance tyres and lowered suspension help produce exceptional economy.

A Stop/ Start function is also fitted in place of the auto hold function. This automatically stops the engine when the vehicle is stationary and restarts it when you pull away, saving fuel and reducing emissions.

A combination of all these refinements delivers a package that offers excellent economy up to 57.6 mpg over the Combined fuel cycle*, and the 2.0 litre TDI CR 110 PS engine, with DPF (Diesel Particulate Filter) fitted as standard, ensures CO2 emissions are from an impressively low 128 g/km.

The Bluemotion Passat adds a higher specification which is evident from its stylish exterior. It presents with low rolling resistance tyres, chrome-plated side bump strips and rear bumper strips and chrome-plated radiator grille surround, roundel surround and louvres creating a visual statement.
