LIMERICK has managed to retain Peter Power as Minister of State at the Department of Foreign affairs, following a reshuffle of junior ministers.

Taoiseach Brian Cowen announced earlier in the month that as part of his overall government cutbacks, the number of junior ministers would be lowered from 20 to 15.

Following a request by the Taoiseach, all 20 junior ministers tendered their resignations and the diluted squad and their portfolios were presented to the Dáil yesterday afternoon.
