The search is on for Ireland’s best pub

THE search is on for the best pub in the country, launched by the Vintners Federation of Ireland.

It is expected that several Limerick watering holes will be in the running.

The competition, which will provide the winning publican with a holiday worth 4,000 euro and four runners-up with weekend breaks of 500 euro each, has been established in an attempt to kick-start sales.

Supporters can cast their votes in favour of their establishment by texting the name and location of the pub to 53106 at a cost of 30 cent per text.

The competition is open to all VFI members.
