49-year-old Anthony Kelly of 121 O’Malley Park appeared before a sitting of Limerick District Court on Thursday evening charged in connection with a shooting in the Southill area of the city.

Kelly, brother to the late former Alderman Michael Kelly, had “nothing to say” when charged with the possession of a firearm with the intent to danger life.

Well known to the gardai, Kelly was arrested and brought to Roxboro gardai station following the incident but a 20 year old woman, who was also arrested at the time, was later released.
