19-year-old charged with murder

A nineteen year old male has been charged with the murder of Daniel Fitzgerald at Ballysimon last week. The accused, Kenneth Collopy (19) of Kilonan, Ballysimon, appeared before a special sitting of Limerick District Court on Monday night where he was formally charged with the offence.

In a brief sitting and under heavy garda presence at the court, Collopy was granted legal aid and was remanded to Limerick prison to appear again on Thursday next via video link.
