Collopy, the accused, was formally charged, last Monday at 9.15pm at Roxboro Road Garda Station by Detective Garda Dave Nolan, with the alleged murder of the 24-year-old carpenter at dead man’s residence in Ballysimon.
John Herbert was appointed as legal aid for the accused.
Inspector Seamus Gallagher sought an adjournment until December 30 next to await the directions of the DPP.
Judge Aeneas McCarthy remanded Kenneth Collopy in continuing custody to the governor of Limerick Prison to reappear in court on that date via video link.
